Any thoughts on cessation and praying for healing? Are prayers for cancer and injury recovery contrary to cessation doctrine?
Just found your blog. I like!
Thanks in advance.
At least from both Chrysostom and Augustine’s perspectives, miracles were less but not non-existent. Chrysostom thought people were preoccupied with miracles and that it thwarted personal development. He still believed in exorcisms and healings. Augustine similarly had a limited miracles scope and later had to reinforce in one writing that miracles still happen to deter followers from believing he was a full cessationist.
